Saugus Police Department Provides Back to School Safety Tips

SAUGUS — With the new academic year set to begin next week, Chief Domenic J. DiMella and the Saugus Police Department urge community members to review important back to school safety tips.

All students in the Saugus Public Schools will return to class on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

“We want to ensure a safe and successful start to the school year,” Chief DiMella said. “As families prepare to send their children back to school, we ask that everyone be aware of their surroundings and to take extra care driving near student pickup and drop-off areas.”

With students often on their phones texting, browsing the internet or playing games, the Saugus Police Department recommends that parents talk to their children about following these safety tips provided by the National Safety Council (NSC) when headed to and from school:
