SAUGUS — Chief Michael Ricciardelli reports that the Saugus Police Department is actively investigating a stabbing early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:05 a.m. today, Saugus Police responded to a home on Bristow Street for a report of a disturbance in the driveway of the home.

Upon arrival, officers located a Lynn man in his late 20s who was suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

The victim was given medical care at the scene by responding officers and then transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His current condition is unknown.

Members of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Prevention and Control unit were called to the scene to assist.
